700R4 overdrive tranny question

Do I need to put in a toggle switch to lock the Torque Converter at highway speeds? Or will it work ok without it? If it needs a switch, is there an easy way to install it? I like easy. :D

more info

engine turns easy enough with the plugs still in using a standard half inch ratchet so it would seem the engine is ok. I am using jumper cables for battery cables. I am thinking these are not thick...
