LOL. I had almost forgotten how many screws I had to take out,OI.
Now I'm reminded of how many will have to be put back in.
A bit of pattern work today. Making sure that when I trim the new chine for width i'm not screwing up.
The last pic shows the V trench I will have to cut into the new chine as we approach the bow. I will have to sort of eyeball this as it changes depth and angle about every 2 inches.

Out in the shop working on the boat today.
More shaping of the port side chine bottom. This is the surface that the bottom planks attach to.
Once this is finished I will trim down the width.
It's getting there......

What tools do you use to make the chine surface so uniform and smooth?

Hand held power planner OI. I also use a manual Bench plane for touch up's.Just like grandpa used to use.
If I had a better band saw ( And eyes ) as well as a helper I could have used that to get the chine closer to the level it needed to be . It takes longer this way but the end results will be the same. Hopefully.
More shaping this morning. Up closer to the bow and dealing with the curve.
I'm going to temp screw the OG planks back down and start to trim the width of the chine next.
Thanks for looking in........

More trimming O the Chine.
Threw the old planks and chine cover back on to check for fitment.
So far. So good.
